“Are you free tomorrow for morning walk?” This is a question my father would often ask us. As an avid nature lover and active individual, it was his way of inviting us to connect with nature, the community and each other, a tradition that has become a cherished part of our family life.

 

One of our favourite activities is to spend time together outdoors, immersing ourselves in the natural beauty of Singapore’s evolving landscapes and the fleeting moments of beauty that often go overlooked. These walks are more than just a leisurely stroll; they are opportunities to bond as a family, to observe, appreciate the world around us and to rediscover our environment. 

 

During these outings, I would bring along my camera to photograph the scenes that we come across. As I look back on the images that I have took over the years, I felt inspired to create a narrative that reflects the peaceful moments we have shared.

 

Daylight Memories is a series that captures the serene landscapes and overlooked moments during leisure walks with family through nature. Focusing on the textures and contrasts found in the simple beauty of the world around us, the images narrate the quiet connection between family members, the places they traversed and the timeless quality of their shared experiences, preserving the feeling of togetherness.
