Culinary Canvas (2024)
Waterloo Street, located in the heart of Singapore, is renowned for its rich culture and dining options. Culinary Canvas is a photography series that captures the diverse and dynamic food scene of the area. It is also an extension of her previous works Subtle Bloom and Condiments Catalogue which narrates the familial bond she has between her sister and family.
This series serves as both a visual feast and a guide, showcasing personal recommendations by the artist and her sister, to dine and drink along Waterloo Street. It also invites viewers to explore the harmonious blend of unique flavours and atmospheres of the street, capturing the essence of experiences, the joy, the laughter and the familial bond that makes every meal unique.
Copies of Culinary Canvas are available at Objectifs - Centre for Photography and Film.
Culinary Canvas was one of the pieces exhibited at Objectifs, for Singapore Night Festival's Waterloo Street Stories 2024: Interplay. Waterloo Street Stories is a collaborative project by the #WaterlooStKakis, comprising Centre 42, Objectifs, P7:1SMA, SMU-Arts and Culture Management and 实践剧场 The Theatre Practice. This exhibition is also part of a two-month residency programme by Objectifs.
